a color specialist living in NYC and the Upper Delaware Region of New York and PA, invites you to come along on this journey with him. A craftsman dedicated to the pursuit of perfection, his love of coloring hair and connecting with people is the driving force that feeds his inspiration.
His Craft
specializes in showcasing dimensional colors that reflect the individual. He prefers colors to have a “lived-in” feel in order to never look overdone. His creations include blondes that look natural, brunettes that reflect light with dimensional shine and redheads that surprise with unexpected tonal variations.
Over 30 years in the business…
Originally from Lubbock, Texas, Ben was educated on coloring hair in the early 90’s and began developing his skills working with some of the biggest names in the industry. After crafting his foundational skills with Toni & Guy, he moved to New York and continued his passion for educating at Bumble and Bumble. Ben then spent the next 16 years as Color Director at Cutler Salons where his passion for mentoring truly emerged as he lead the creative direction in color and crafted the education program. In 2015, taking a leap, he accepted a national poisition as Creative Director at the renowned Red Door Salon and Spa. There, Ben collaborated with his closest friends and colleagues in developing a salon culture based on education. Leading the Hair Team on a journey of creative discovery brought Ben to realize the fulfilllment of turning one’s inspiration into reality. This process eventually led to the development of an unprecedented team of talented colorists. Rebounding from the effects on the hairdressing industry as a whole in 2020, Ben launched his next exciting venture in hair with The Color Shop. Ben moved The Color Shop into Ferrazz Hair in Chelsea in 2023. He hopes to see you there!
